In Le Budrie, a small country village between San Giovanni in Persiceto and Anzola dell’Emilia, a brilliant story of life and holiness is kept in a fragment of time between 1846 and 1870. In this period lived Clelia Barbieri, a beautiful, simple, humble and strong girl; the fruit and gift of that people and that land.
Her contemporaries, including her mother, the parish priest, the carpenter, the rope-maker, the furnace stoker, the bricklayer, the shopkeeper… but also her friends, the little girls and their mothers tell us of her extraordinary human and Christian adventure.
Just as a seed, the smallest of all, scattered on the ground becomes a leafy tree and a comforting shadow for pilgrims, so Clelia, minim among the minims, is a point of reference, a pointer of direction for all of us today.
